Setiap tahun, sistem pendidikan kita membuang milyaran Rupiah untuk membeli Sistem Operasi yang mahal untuk sekolah kita. Yang mana Perangkat Lunak itu sangat kaku dan membuat ketergantungan. Yang bisa membuat pelajar menjadi tidak kreatif.
Each year our educational system wastes billions of Rupiahs for the purchase and support of proprietary operating systems and application software in our schools. The software is rigid and inflexible, opaque in its design and mysterious to our children.
Kami menganjurkan dan mengusulkan penggantian bertahap dari Perangkat Lunak Berbayar untuk dalam mendukung Sistem Operasi Aternatif dengan jenis lisensi GPL. Dengan kemungkinan yang bisa terjadi agar pelajar menjadi lebih kreatif dan mempunyai wawasan yang luas dalam kegiatan belajar-mengajar.
We advocate and propose the gradual replacement of privately owned software with restrictive licensing in favor of open source alternatives with GPL type licenses. In as much as possible we should have our students using software that complies with the definition of free software as defined by the Free Software Foundation. Sistem Operasi GNU/Linux, dengan dasar kode sumber terbuka, alat dan dokumentasi yang sudah tersedia untuk pelajar. Penggunaannya harus didorong sebagai media pembelajaran yang tersedia dengan biaya yang ringan.
The GNU/Linux operating system, underlying source code, tools and documentation are readily available to students already. Their use should be encouraged as the tools and code are available cost free.
